Kids with positive adult role models have the potential for greatness. They graduate from school, get jobs, and lead productive, healthy lives.
But for many kids in the Bay Area, the adults they see most are gangbangers and drug dealers.
For these kids, the neighborhood is as far as the world goes. They’ve never seen the beach or the redwoods, never been to a museum or a zoo. High school is optional and prison is a small mistake away.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area is the lifeline that connects these kids with caring adult role models. We make and support these relationships for as long as it takes.

The Diabetes Society was organized in 1963 by a group of mothers of children with diabetes. The Diabetes Society is a one-stop shop for diabetes education and support and serves 20,000 people annually. We give education, hope, and encouragement to those living with diabetes. Our programs include a 3-part diabetes management program, community-wide diabetes screenings, support groups, and diabetes education camps for children, teenagers, and families. The Society also helps recruit participants for the latest state of the art diabetes clinical trials.
The Society's client base includes children of all ages, teenagers, adults, and seniors. Most clients come from the low- to middle-income socioeconomic groups, and many are under or uninsured. While most adult clients come from the San Francisco Bay Area, the Diabetes Society serves over 460 children and teens with diabetes from all over California through our camp programs.

SOUTH BAY PUREBRED RESCUE members are highly motivated individuals with a standard of professionalism, ethics, and dedication that is unsurpassed in the world of canine rescue. We proudly boast the largest number of foster homes available in Northern California who are knowledgeable and exp
erienced with the unique needs of a vast number of both recognized and rare dog breeds. SBPR membership includes a wide variety of animal professionals – groomers, veterinarians, trainers, behaviorists – as well as veteran volunteers from all walks of life specializing in the rescue of purebred breeds.
SOUTH BAY PUREBRED RESCUE is committed to excellence in foster care, public education, companion canine adoptions, spay and neuter assistance, canine behavior counseling, and purebred adoption networking and referrals.
SOUTH BAY PUREBRED RESCUE enjoys the support of animal shelters and individual purebred dog clubs throughout California and, in some cases, we have national support.
SOUTH BAY PUREBRED RESCUE members strive to deepen human understanding of companion dogs and to cultivate respect for all living things.
